October is National Dental Hygiene Month

This year, the awarene month is focusing on three routines that can help people maintain healthy smiles, brush, floss and visit your dentist.

Good oral and dental hygiene can help prevent bad bmath, tooth decay and gum disease and can help you keep your teeth as you get oder. An unhealthy mouth, especially if you have gum disease, may increase your risk of serious health problems such as heart attack, stroke, poorly controlled diabetes and preterm labor.

  • Use mouthwash to remove food particles left atter brushing and flossing.
  • Eat a healthy diet anti limit food with added sugars.
  • Replace your toothbrush three months or sooner if bristles are splayed or worn.
  • Schedu.
  • Regular dental checkups and clean.
  • Avoid tobacco use.
